Commercial Usage
Recommended Application: Usage guide: 1∕10 – 1∕4 lb of Flava-malt® per barrel of beer.
- Determine the amount of Flava-malt® to be used for your recipe. Usage guide is advisory and the actual product needed will vary depending on recipe and sensory requirements.
- The recommendation is to add Flava-malt® during fermentation, similar to your schedule for dry hop additions.
- The product is pasteurized to maintain sterile conditions when using.
- Use best practices when adding products to reduce oxygen exposure in the fermentation or bright tank. Flavors added at this stage, at temperatures less than 70F, will help to keep flavors in the beer and avoid the volatilization of flavor compounds that may occur with flavor additions at earlier stages of the brewing process.
- Allow the product to settle naturally and rest in the tank for at least 24 hours up to seven days. If there is extended storage time in the tank, purge the solids from the tank, as you would with dry hops.
- Proceed with process through filtration: filters, centrifuge, or allow any residue to settle naturally.
- The product is now ready to send to packaging.
